Georg Balthasar Probst: Le dedans du Palais de l'Empereur de Chine

G.B. Probst: Le dedans du Palais de l'Empereur de Chine. Augsburg 1760.
This is an optical print to be viewed with a zograscope.
Georg Balthasar Probst (1732-1801) was one of the famous producers of this kind of prints living in Augsburg (Latin: Augusta Vindelicorum, A. V.). He produced more than 300 views, with captions in four languages. Most of them show an imperial privilege (l'Académie Imperiale d'Empire des Arts liberaux avec Privilege de Sa Majesté). But the "Kaiserliche Franziskische Akademie", that was active between 1775 and 1779, actually was no more than a publisher's company.
