    • Heinrich Scherer (1628-1704) was a Professor of Hebrew, Ethics and Mathematics in Dillingen (Germany). Later he served as tutor to the Princely house of Bavaria in Munich. During these years he became gradually an outstanding cartographer. His maps reflect the spread of Catholicism and the efforts of Jesuit missionaries around the globe.
